Postman

Sr. Product Designer

Jan 2024 - Current

Responsibilities

At Postman, I focus on product design for the Postman Public API Network, particularly enhancing the API publisher experience. I lead system design efforts by developing information architecture diagrams, user journeys, wireframes, and user stories. These are later turned into high-fidelity designs with attention to visual design, and copy.

I provide leadership by mentoring junior designers, managing design programs, and assisting in design recruitment to build a strong team.

Highlights

  • Led the transition from a “just in time” design practice to a more proactive, user-focused approach. This shift enabled the creation of a user-centric roadmap informed by insights from customer-facing teams.

  • Led the work establishing an information architecture and navigation model that accommodates new lines of business under the Postman umbrella, ensuring scalability and future growth.

  • Shipped the first features to ensure that the Postman security posture can scale for a growing enterprise business.

Spotify

Sr. Product Designer

Jun 2022 - Dec 2024

Responsibilities

At Spotify, I played a key role in enhancing the Developer Experience (PDX) by creating assets for system design, crafting information architecture diagrams, mapping user journeys, and developing wireframes and user stories. I then used the system design as a base for high-fidelity designs that encompassed visual elements, copy, animations, and functional prototypes.

Additionally, I provided leadership by mentoring junior designers, managing design programs, and participating in design recruitment to build a strong and capable team.

Highlights

  • Successfully shipped the first commercial projects for Spotify Backstage, including commercial Plugins, Soundcheck self-serve, and Soundcheck reporting.

  • Introduced an effective design sprint model to a large product area, enabling regular and on-schedule shipments.

  • Implemented several enterprise design patterns into the design system, allowing other designers to create and manage creation and reporting projects more efficiently.

Opentrons

Sr. Product Designer

Nov 2021 - Jun 2022

Responsibilities

At Opentrons, I focused on product design for the robotics division, specifically enhancing the desktop app. I was responsible for system design, which included developing information architecture diagrams, user journeys, wireframes, and user stories. These assets would then serve as a base for high-fidelity designs, including visual design, copy, animations, and functional prototypes.

I also provided design leadership by mentoring junior designers, managing design programs, and participating in design recruitment.

Highlights

  • Successfully convinced the company to shift from a “just in time” design approach to a more forward-facing strategy, enabling us to gather user insights and build a user-centric roadmap.

  • Quickly consolidated the company’s offerings from four separate apps into a single, mobile-first design that became the foundation for the team’s roadmap.
